Who can have a Facebook business page?
A legitimate company, charity, not-for-profit organisation or business.
How do I get one?
'Facebook' policy states that a personal account (profile) must be set up first (perhaps belonging to the individual who will moderate the page – the 'Admin'). The business page can then be set up as an extension of that account, although the link between the two cannot be seen by users.
I don't really want a personal 'Facebook' account (profile), can it be hidden?
Yes, although a personal account must be created, it can actually become 'invisible' to search engines and other 'Facebook' users, by adapting the security and privacy settings.
I'm not sure that I want users to be able to leave comments on my business page, can this be prevented?
Yes, if you just want to use the page for information only and not allow users to comment, then settings can be adjusted accordingly. However, allowing some users (those who have 'liked' the page), to comment, share information or links will encourage them to 'share' the page with their own friends which is beneficial to your business.
If this option is taken, the 'Admin' would need to moderate the page to ensure appropriate content is being posted.
I wouldn't know how to set this up, can youhelp me?
We can create the personal and business pages, following your instructions on privacy, security and the level of interactivity required.
Once it's created, how will I know how to use it?
We offer comprehensive training sessions by phone, e-mail or Skype video tutorial.
We normally find that a maximum of 2 (1 hour) sessions is sufficient, but offer ongoing support if required.
How will users find my business page?
Initially, by 'sharing' the details with other users (we can initiate this as part of the set up process). This accelerates the cyberspace version of 'word of mouth' (recommendation). 'Facebook' users constantly share information about their interests, activities etc. Social network marketing utilises this to the advantage of your business.
If I decide I no longer want/require the business page, can it be removed?
The page can be removed at any time (by the account's 'Admin') but the content cannot be restored once this has been done.
